Biography

In his role as President and CEO of HDUSA, Michael Coulter focuses on shaping Hanwha’s strategic direction in the world’s largest aerospace market, enhancing its innovation portfolio and fostering Hanwha’s partnerships and growth in the United States, spanning both the shipbuilding and defense sectors. He previously served as President and Global CEO of Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Global Defense, where he led the global defense business of Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha Systems and Hanwha Ocean, spearheading the company’s global expansion.  Prior to joining Hanwha, he held key leadership roles in the defense industry, driving growth, managing global operations and leading global initiatives to strengthen defense relationships. In public service, he served in senior positions in international security and strategy, leading global initiatives to strengthen defense relationships and managing security cooperation programs. As a U.S. Navy officer, he served multiple combat tours and commanded at multiple levels.  Coulter is also an Executive Director of Hanwha Aerospace and Chairman of the Hanwha Defense USA Board of Directors.
